Child Abuse Prosecution at the Chatham County District Attorney's Office is handled by one of the longest serving child abuse units in the state of Georgia; established in 1988. Child abuse prosecutors are specially trained to handle cases involving child victims and routinely attend specialized seminars and workshops on child abuse prosecution to maintain up-to-date knowledge and prosecution strategies and methods to see that those committing crimes against children are brought to justice. Prosecutors also attend speaking engagements that inform others on the signs of child abuse and how to seek help if they believe a child is being abused.
